Did you know that the Downtown Manhattan Beach Business Association is responsible for bringing the farmers market to Manhattan Beach every Tuesday?
The business association in downtown Manhattan Beach consists of 200 businesses that offer unique shopping, dining and personal professional services. They all work together to support & promote programs in the community associated with education, health and the environment. That is why 6 years ago, the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market was brought into our downtown each week to offer healthy eating choices from local farms and vendors. Exhibitors each week will educate you on anything from nutrition, to physical therapy, to helping the environment to name a few.
Did you know that 5% of the proceeds from the Manhattan Beach Farmers Market is donated to Growing Great?
GrowingGreat is a nutrition education organization dedicated to inspiring children to make healthier eating choices. Through their pay it forward model, students enjoy classroom nutrition lessons, garden plantings and farm to school tastings all presented by trained volunteers and teachers. GrowingGreat currently serves 16,000 students in Los Angeles County, operating and managing over 30 schools in 10 school districts.
Support your local farmers and get involved in your community! Volunteer at the Farmers Market and have fun doing it!
We are looking for dedicated individuals that are interested in helping us at the market. Whether you are available every week for all our shifts or a couple of times a month for only one of our shifts, we want to hear from you. If you are not available Tuesdays but have other skills you would like to make a contribution of other days of the week, let us know: we occasionally have small projects that we need help on.
If you are interested, email Melody@mbfarmersmarket.com , or better yet, come and meet us at the market!
