State of the City 2014
Mayor Amy Howorth will deliver the State of the City address on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. This essential event presented by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce will help you understand how the City of Manhattan Beach is managing their resources, what they have accomplished in the past year and what is on the horizon. The annual event is a great opportunity for you to get informed and make new business connections.
About Mayor Amy Howorth
Amy is currently the Mayor of Manhattan Beach. Prior to that, she served on the Manhattan Beach School Board for two terms. She recently served on the Technology Committee for MBUSD and is a passionate supporter of technology. Amy has served on the City’s Environmental Task Force and the Facilities Strategic Plan Steering Committee. She spent twelve years as a professional photo editor and was the founding photo editor at Wired Magazine. She also spent four years at WGBH in Boston, working on shows such as “Nova, “ “This Old House,” and “Mystery.”
Amy lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband Mark, sons Ari and Jack, and dogs Obi and Roxy. She has been known to find great satisfaction watching her electric meter run backwards, as a result of solar panel installation.
